Biopure Celebrates Hard-won China Infant Formula Registration

Auckland exporter Biopure Health is welcoming in the Chinese New Year by securing what has proved impossible for other small players in China’s tough new infant formula market.

The company has gained registration for its Infapure formula brand under strict new Chinese regulations that require infant formula manufacturers and brands to gain approval from China’s National Certification Authority (CNCA) in order to export.

These new regulations have seen more than 400 hundreds of brands of New Zealand origin disappear from the Chinese market, with a large number of manufacturers still awaiting approval.

Soft-opening of the New Zealand Consulate-General in Shanghai


On Dec 9, Simon Page and Jane Li were honoured to meet New Zealand Ambassador to China Carl Worker at the soft-opening of the New Zealand Consulate-General in Shanghai. The new offices were striking with a very modern and distinct ‘Kiwi’ feel. We wish the Consulate staff all the best for their new premises!

Biopure attends PM opening of NZ Consulate-General in Chengdu

biopure-health-simon-page-john-keyOn November 12 Prime Minister John Key opened the New Zealand Consulate-General in the Western Chinese city of Chengdu.

Biopure Managing Director and New Zealand Milk Bar founder Simon Page was amongst those invited by NZTE to attend the opening ceremony as an example of a NZ business that was founded in Chengdu and had made inroads into China from the West.

Customer advisory – Fonterra whey protein quality issue does not affect Biopure Health customers

Following Fonterra’s announcement of contamination of its whey protein concentrate, Biopure Health wishes to confirm that our customers are not affected.

No production of Infapure infant formula, or other Biopure Health products, contain any of the potentially contaminated material.

The traceability systems in place within the New Zealand food industry are robust and we were able to prove quickly that no Biopure Health products were affected.
